Riser and Manifold Questions

Hi all,
I have been doing some research and have some questions. I have an OMC Cobra SBC 5.7. It currently has Barr manifolds and risers with a closed cooling system. The boat was repowered in 2005 and was converted to a closed cooling system. It spent about three years in saltwater and now is only run in fresh water. I want to change the risers, as the outsides are starting to show some signs of rust, and I do not want to take any chances. Is it necessary to change the manifolds as well? I do believe the manifolds and risers were replaced with the Barr brand when the boat was repowered. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Ayuh,... Are the manifolds included in the freshwater side, or on the raw water side..??

If on the raw water side, I'd replace 'em...

How exactly would I confirm one way or the other? Sorry for my ignorance, but I am still learning quite a bit about the cooling system. I do however have hoses coming off of my heat exchanger to the front of the manifolds if this helps any? I believe it is a 1/2 cooling system setup.

Ayuh,... I donno what you've got, but raw water comes into the exchanger, 'n then goes Out somewhere...
Either Out through the manifolds, 'N the risers,...
Or, right Out the risers...

It does sound like a block only system, if so, replace the manifolds too...
