Re: Road Trip!!!!

Have a safe trip. Depending on where you are going in Georgia, there weather might not be any better then what you have. We are expecting some nasty weather in our near future here in Alabama which Georgia of coarse will get it next. Possible snow and freezing rain mixed for some parts of Alabama. Just got back from Florida myself and they have been getting frost in some northern areas of Florida (in the handle).

Re: Road Trip!!!!

Hi everyone! I just got up from my nap;) I had an enjoyable trip , left tues night-24hrs behind schedule. Mostly because I wanted to be ready for bear and things kept getting side tracked, and as wncrjb noted the weather stunk.

I took I84 ,I81,I77,I85. Rained untill i got to Virginia (driving at night) . Got into GA. arround 2:30pm and took a tour of NE Georgia (aka got lost)finaly getting a room in Commerce city. About 22hrs onthe road .
My friend and I left arround 9:00am for the Gainseville area , by way of the Chattahoochee national forest (My friend's name is NOT tom-tom)then bumped into our destination just after noon.I talked to the owner then walked out to look as the boat. It had been the victom of a bad rehab job and now needed a total resto. The ad said "rig your motor add new seats+carpet and hand out the gone fishing sign"...:rolleyes:Yea right! Actually I expected that. I had talked several times with the business owner and got little more than that from him. And truth is I had a hard time walking out of there with out it (??12 step program??) Even thought of turning arround 2x:D
Overall a great time touring a beautifull part of the country in great weather. Got wonderfull hospitality from every one we met!

Re: Road Trip!!!!

IF you're anything like me, every time the weather goes from mid to upper 70's down to mid to lower 30's your sinuses run wild for a few days/weeks, so you'll end up with what I have... I call it post-vacation ich (as in the aquarium fish disease that is actually a parasite... I know too much about aquarium fish).

Re: Road Trip!!!!

No SgtMaj ,I did'nt have any problems that way. I do have to adjust to going from shorts to a swaeter!
I am still in shock from my trip home up I95 tho:mad: maybe saved 50-75 miles, and paid $47.50:eek:compared to $3.50 on the way down. My fillups ranged from $35-$42 for my colorado so no big gain.
