Hi there. I've got my 74 Mercruiser 140 serial no. 373xxxxx out at the lake AND I forgot my service manuals at home.

I'm trying to get this back in the water for my old guy while he can still enjoy it. It's been out for a couple of years.

I've got 2 jets on the throttle body even though the online parts diagrams only show an Idle Adjustment Needle.

Does anyone know the default number of turns open I should set these as a starting point?

thanks

There is no such thing as a default setting. The manual gives you a starting point, usually around 1-1/2 turns from lightly seated.
This is usually good enough to get it running, you have to adjust the mixture screws for the condition of the engine. and every engine is different.

Thank you very much Don.

That info will get me going.

I see in the parts list it shows one needle but a quantity of 2.

thanks again
