hoping someone can give me a hands on, yes I have done this answer....

my 1969 OMC 120hp has a rochester 2GC carb and leaky brass float. I tried to resolder it but can't get it sealed so I am thinking of just getting a new float. however, the parts places that I have been to do not list a float for this carb when looking up the carb #, but they do have floats for other 2GC carb #'s of the same vintage. i have been told by a 'carb guy' that they are all the same and I can get any float for a 2GC. Has anyone successfully done this?

sure thing - 7026180

I should say that my research indicates this is not the original carb for the 1969 OMC 120..but shouldn't matter.

7026180 Rochester 2GC (Not Original Carb)

OMC 155 (1967-1972) OMC# 772831 / MFG# 7026180 R2, 2GC

So if you want to find parts for this... numerous ways but for starters, I would go to www.google.com, type in "702618, rochester", click enter & you can order all you want!!! As I found all the parts I needed myself.

You can even buy a new rebuilt carb on iboats.com but/or for about $30, you can buy a carb kit & float at local knowledgable parts store or on-line marine store. Now what I mean by knowledgeable parts store is someone who knows how to use the "parts books" & not just a PC, cause you have to know how, know mfg, etc... to find it!!!

Happy boating as this is one of the easiest to rebuild. 6 pack of beer, some carb cleaner, carb kit, new float & fuel filter (do not forget)... and you should be bustin' waves in no time. Good Luck!!!

Take that carb number to NAPA and get a new float, and carb kit and fix it.

Re: rochester 2GC carb question

I did take that carb # to 3 different auto parts stores in town (NAPA was one of them) and each of them said float not available. Found a 'carb doctor' place on the web and he tells me it is available and he has it. I resoldered the one I have and it is holding air but I ordered the new one as well. Bottom line is that this prob is fixed now and i actually went boating :)
