Rochester 2GC Fast Idle Cam Alignment - Mercruiser 470

The Fast Idle Cam on my Mercruiser 470 does not align with the Throttle Body Assembly where the throttle cable attaches. It seems that it should. When the throttle is a WOT, the plate is still closed and I think it should be open. How should this Cam align with the Throttle Body plate? Should it touch so that as I open the throttle, the plate opens too? If that is true, how should it connect? If not, is it normal that my throttle plate never opens more than 1/16th of an inch?

I rebuilt my carb several weeks ago and took pictures of everything I did, but of course, forgot to take a picture of how these align (yes...that was stupid!) The Mercruiser manual does not show a diagram of how the line up.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Coors...you are correct. The Choke Plate barely moves and since the Fast Idle Cam makes no contact at all, it does not move in tandem with the throttle assembly when the throttle is moved up towards WOT. Could it need an adjustment at the Choke to "loosen" it? I'm now wondering if I adjusted the Choke too far when I reassembled it.
