Re: rock damage

I appreciate the input. I like the idea of driving another new boat of the same make/model. I can't imagine that this is a standard built in harmonic that causes enough vibration to make items that don't normally rattle...rattle.

I assumed Grandboater did not buy a $75,000 boat and then not purchase an insurance policy on it.

Well, you know what they say about "assume"! ;) :p

But on the other hand, not every boater turns in what they think is only "minor" damage. After all, if he has a $75k boat, he has $2000 or so to fix it. Semantics.

Good point, Tilliam. But, this claim could be a few hundred dollars, or it could be a complete new B3 drive train.

Most people do not understand that the contract with the insurance company puts the burden on them to make you whole again, once you have proven that you have a covered loss under the contract.

Grandboater is doing their work for them, in my opinion. He needs to turn in a claim if he has not done so, and let them run with it, all the way up to a new motor and drive if that is what it takes.

I would not settle for anything less.

PS---the marina you mentioned has been operating under the "only show in town" syndrome since the day it opened. I would not send my worst enemy there.

I understand that, yes.

I would! That way I know my worst enemy would be cheated very badly!
(it's 38 years, by the way, I got the speech when he tried to tell me that all the gears inside were stainless steel!)

Re: rock damage

So far the dealer has invoiced me $660 for the repair. I have emailed the salesman and the owner of the marina with the hope that they will do the right thing and re-evaluate the repair. In the meantime and given that the easy fix did not work I guess it's time to make a claim. To date I have been reluctant to make a claim given that I have $1000 deductible but I guess the time has come. Thanks again.
