Got a mercury rebuild question.

Is it ok to reuse the bearings for the crank to rod? IF they are servicable.>

Second, the bolts that clamp the rod around the crank. is it ok to reuse these?

Need a no nonsese answer.

Thanks

Re: Rod Bearings and bolts

I would not re-use any friction bearing parts.

Rod bolts are not an item that wear out unless you reuined a bearing.

Re: Rod Bearings and bolts

If the engine has loose needle bearings no, if caged maybe if marked to journal and rod they have ran on. Rod bolts I reuse once if it was a virgin motor ,discarded if someone there before me. Bearings and bolts are to cheap to take a risk on.(90hp 3cylinder=$15.00 bearings and $4.25 bolts)
