Re: rod cap alignment

Those rod's have a raised boss, or projection on both the cap, and the rod, these must line up. Don't mix the cap's up, or turn them around. This will damage both component's. With the cap properly placed, tighten the cap slowly from side to side, feeel along the gap with a pencil, or fingernail for alinement.

I'm not sure if these are the same ones as my EXP150, but if they are, they aren't too bad.

Just torque them in stages, and keep checking each time you tighten the bolts that they are still aligned. I used my fingernail as well.

Hey Brian,

Yours are the precision ground, I believe.

No matter, as you found out , it can be done without the tool.

Brian, hows your boat running?? I havent been on much lately and lost track.

Re: rod cap alignment

Ok, thanks for clearing that up.

The boat PH is running great, but I finally broke down and took it to the shop so they could figure out why I can't get reverse! I haven't heard anything back yet on that. I just had too much other stuff to get done before winter to mess with it....

Thanks for asking and for all your help!!
