Rod holder installation?

Sorry if im posting in the wrong section, but have a 2000 alumacraft trophy 165, trying to add monster rod holders with bases, and not exactly how to go about it. I do not have the alumatrack system, dont really want to drill 100 holes either. Can a guy bolt a t bar up to the top of the gunnel? How do you have yours set up?
