Well guys I am after a rod lock style setup for my hatch. I will explain it as best I can, and include photos of the hatch which might help what I am after. I want the hatch to work like a sunroof on a car that can be shut then partially opened up to allow air to flow through, then fully released and open so you can get out onto the bow to drop anchor. any help with where to look or even a name for this would be great...

or even how to make one or pictures of something like what i am after

Hello m8..first off..do you have a gasket plan for your top hatch ? ( I do :) ) .

I can see a problem with a removable/adjustable hatch that only has a rod lock. Sealing. You should have 4 lock points on a removable hatch. Hinged sounds better to me..you can lock your hatch open in any position..or flip it wide open.

You want to go in and out of this hatch to run the fordeck as Im understanging ? Does not look/sound ..erm..Logical..

it will be hinged. and on the logical side i didn't put the hatch there the boat maker did. i just had to make a new hatch cover as i didn't get one when i bought the boat. the cabin roof is balsa core it can hold my 95kg easy, gasket is easy with a rubber pinch weld style seal to go around the top of the cab. what i was after though is a rod the will allow it to be set at a hight for air flow into the cab then fully release so it can be opened all the way up. and yeah i think the hatch is stupid there as well. but i didn't design it i just got stuck with it:eek:

well these are what am after. Would prefer the first style but id like it to be able to lock whilst hatch is open a little bit. like the second one offers. but I wont buy the second one because title says new, and the pictures don't make it look new at all:rolleyes: plus i cant see how the base attaches. Once bitten twice shy
