I have twin 1997 Yamaha 200 2-strokes. About a month ago, I couldn't get either engine to tilt up or down. My marine mechanic worked on both engines and they worked. He said they seem to be losing fluid slowly. Yesterday, my starboard engine would not, at first, go up or down. Eventually it went up, but would not go back down. I took off the fill cap and a little air came out. I put some tilt/trim fluid in with a syringe, but it didn't seem to need much before it came back out.

The engine still does not go up or down and I am not sure how to work the air out.

I was told to release the pressure screw and let the engine fall. Then, the tilt unit will lift the motor back up. Tighten the release screw. Then, release the air and refill the unit and release the
screw and let fall again. Repeat as necessary.

Rodbolt, will this work?

Thanks,

Richard
