Roll and Tip with "Whizz" brand foam rollers

I was attempting to paint my old Glasspar splashwell with Epifanes Yacht Enamel and I've run into a frustrating problem with what I believe is dusty foam rollers from Lowe's (I think Home Depot may sell these, too). I was going crazy trying to identify the source of dust in my cured coats when yesterday, upon removing one of these Whizz (brand) 4" high density foam rollers from the bag, a plume of foam dust particles exploded in the sun light.

Has anyone encountered this? I'm about to go to West Marine and buy really-expensive brushes and rollers. I had the same problem with Interlux on my transom. The money wasted on paint, the time...and the time...aye :facepalm:

Hoping someone can suggest a quality roller...and maybe offer some emotional support for someone about to spend $45 on a second quart of paint.

Ayuh,.... You can wash the roller cover with whichever solvent yer using for the paint, before ya start...

Bond-o, thanks. I tried cleaning the Whizz roller with acetone but it fell apart...I wasn't being that rough with it. I'm not mixing my paint with a solvent. It's about 85F in my garage and I roll/tip a very small area at a time. Maybe Mineral Spirits would be a better cleaner. I've been tossing my rollers after one use and it's getting rather expensive. On a more exciting note: I just got done putting down a coat of Epifanes with the "Redtree" brand 4" foam rollers (and tipping with their 2" foam brush) from West Marine and what a WORLD of difference. It almost looks like I know what I'm doing. I'm completely excited about this paint job again. Everything is laying down perfectly and not a speck of dust. The $5 I saved on those cheap Whizz rollers from Lowes ended up costing me about $20 in paint waste and many additional hours of painting/sanding.

I used the ultra high density foam rollers from Home Depot. They worked fine.

I also used foam rollers from Lowes, but they weren't Whizz. Guess they don't sell the brand I used anymore.

I used the Whizz rollers and took a length of duct tape and looped it on my hand inside out and patted each roller down before I used it, you'd be surprised how much particle crud is on those. The tape helped.
