I have a 70hp Johnson on a 16' Vaguard boat. Ocassionaly when Im moving in flat/calm water the boat feels as if its riding on a large rolling wave? Any ideas?

Thanks

When you say "moving," do you mean moving fast, on plane, or moving slowly through the water. Different causes in each situation.

Sounds like it might be "surging" carb-wise

Sounds like it may be popoising. Is the bow moving up and down?

Re: Rolling Feeling

yes backing off fixes it

Sounds like a trim issue, then. If you have power trim, try trimming in and out just a skosh. If you don't have power trim, try the next trim position out and the next trim position in. Whichever one fixes the problem is the right one.

Once you find the sweet spot, you'll know it, and your porpoising will be a thing of the past.
