can anyone tell me what brand of helm was used in a 62-65 seafair sedan?... it definitely is a rotary helm but I know nothing about the rotary types, or how to replace the cable.... or if the cables are one style fits all, or if different brands use a different style of cable.

and the motor end of the cable needs to fit thru the tilt tube on a merc.... maybe someone knows what length I need for this boat, and can help me spec the cable so I can replace it?????

this is a project boat that I am finally getting finished up, and I do not have the original steering cable to work from as it was cut off about 2ft from the helm...

Thanks...

I have found out that it is a mercury marine rotary helm..... are cables for these no longer available? and as I know so little about helms, in looking for a replacement, what would be a good quality helm that would handle a 120hp outboard?
