Epoxy doesn't smell and is strong as heck but it's expensive. Poly will work and is what your boat was made from so that will work well also. Up to you.

To stiffen your gunwales, why not add a "stringer" type ledge on either side and add side panels like many boats have. Here's the setup on my tinny:

Yeah I think you'd be a bit crazy to drop that kind of coin on an outboard. I'd buy a used one or a new powerhead for yours before I'd go the new route.

Yeah that horizontal stringer makes sense and would be alot more econominal than laying matt over the whole thing....

above the cuddy the deck flexes a little bit also...I'm assuming something like that would also do the trick!

Me and my son finally got the splashwell removed today...it was a HUGE and heavy sucker....now I can go get a grinder and flapper disc and start cleaning up the transom!!! Maybe hopefully if I stay at it I can have the transom in by winter.

would it be stupid to redesign the splash well that I had on before...Its going to be hard enough as it is to reattach and the thing was just huge...evn with the motor trimmed all the wat up there were tons of room available in there...just seems like a waste of space.
