Hello all, I have a 1991 Penn Yan 245 Contender, I've only had this boat since spring of 2015. While Winterizing it this Fall and removing the battery's I noticed one of the Horizontal wooden shelves was rotten, of course it would be, the storage compartment above it drains directly onto the wooden shelf. Looking more into it, the vertical support is rotten at the top as well. I have since put this boat away for the Winter months, and I'm going on memory, but was wondering how these 2 pieces are constructed? Laminated into the transom and bottom of the boat? If I grind out the old ones, will there be slots or places for the new wood? Anybody ever do this? Thanks in advance. D
