idles like it is running on 7 cyl beyond idle runs great. great power out of hole has no trouble pushing 5000 lb at 40 mph new plugs cap &rotor i suspect a bad plug wire. on a previous repair a wrench was dropped on the hot alternator wire causing a few sparks but continues to work except the volt gauge now jumps around at low rpms . Is it possible I fried a diode in the regulator causing unstable voltage at idle in turn simulating a miss ? thanks Jim

Re: rough idle

Running lean, too much compression, too much timing advance, poor fuel, detonation, over propped...
