RPM gauge isn?t working

I am a first time boat owner and I just bought a 2002 Caravelle 18 foot fish & ski boat. My RPM gauge isn?t working. I looked for a fuse and didn?t see one. What else can I look for to see why it?s not working??? The boat has a 3.0 Mercruiser in it.

remove and clean all your connections.

I agree with the above reply as well as make sure the wires for it are hooked up on both ends.
