Yesterday, after da pleasent day of boating, I returned to the dock, and secured the old girl as usual. During the day she ran just fine and I experienced no problems.
Today we went down and after checking things out stated the engine. Started right up then the RPM went straight to 1250. normally at cold idle she runs at 700-750. I checked the linkage and it was not stuck. I had to back off the idle screw to get it back down to normal RPM.
Questions: What would cause it to jump like that? the engine is a 1977 Mercruiser (chevy) 350 (5.7L) electronic ign.
