Thanks, Ed

Re: Rpm

4500 -5500. develops 85 hp at 5000. with the crappy fuel we have today, the operate better at the higher rpms.

Re: Rpm

Had the boat out yesterday and it ran at 5000 top speed. Was
wondering if I should change the prop? I need to have a spare
on hand anyway. I am running a 13 1/4 X 17 and could go to
a 13 3/4 X 15 and maybe get a few more turns out of it.

Re: Rpm

before going there, try raising the motor a notch or two on the transom.

Re: Rpm

you will pick up about 200-250, have a better hole shot, but may loose a few MPH. if your turning 5000 at wot, your ok. the main thing about the proper wot rpm, is that a lower speeds you are not lugging the motor. you are fine in where you are. if you are skiing or pulling a tube, you will see a difference, on the take off, with the 15.

i wombat were posting at the same time, he gave good advice also.
