Hi,

I have a mercruiser 454 with a bravo 1. Last season I replaced the engine and all components with the exception of the carb and intake manifold. First trip out this season the boat ran better than ever. Up on plane faster and cruise at lower rpms. After that the boat seemed to lose power. I would be running on plane and the engine would just shut down. It would start again and would run fine for a bit then the rpm's would drop.

I would open the throttle and it felt as if the boat was missing and no matter how much throttle the rpms would not increase.

I replaced the water seperator and put fuel additives in.

Any suggestions?

Re: rpms drop off

Check your fuel tank vent line.Next time out, open the fill cap when the problem starts.
