Hey richard, Recieved your Pump today, Installed on the boat and check all operation, works fantastic... Lefted the engine up for an hour and had no leakdown.... I was wondering if i could offer a small piece of advise on the instructions for the reseal kit you offer... The instructions are fantastic... But maybe you could write on how to properly fill the Shock Ram... I noticed today that after installed the pump and valve body it wouldnt go into TRIM mode and thats cause the shock wouldnt fully compress... I realized that i had filled the shot to much with oil and that when the motor bottomed out at full trim, The psi became so great in the trim ram it actually popped the cover off the ram... I was lucky enough to get the cover to screw back into place and take alittle oil out.. IT Now works great... But maybe others who purchase your kit in the future could be told how to properly fill the rams and with what type of fluid belongs in it.. I went to west marine today and spent 30 minutes getting the correct trim pump oil... I spent over 400 dollars rebuilding the tilt/trim cylinders and wanted to make sure the correct oil was in the system... Again I thank you and lefted you great feedback... And hope i did not upset you with the advise...

Thanks for the heads up. I never thought of that happening but you are right. Too much oil and the shock would not compress. Instructions aren't meant to be encyclopedic but they do need to cover everything that won't be in a standard maint. manual. Thanks.

$400?? Ouch. You must have had a saltwater boat. Buy a merucry 818298A1 trim anode ($11). Cut it in half right down middle groove so that you end up with two long skinny anodes. Sand the paint off bottom of your trim housing and bolt on the anode. You'll need to carefully pick a spot to drill and thread a couple of #10 or #12 screws holes. Use SS hex or pan heads. Get some 7x7 stainless braid with a pair of crimp on ring terminals and make a short ground strap. Run the strap from anode to one of the four valve body retaining screws. This will help reduce future salt water corrosion. It would probably also be good idea to replace your main anode (behind propeller) every year or two.
