Re: RTH: Leak behind raw water pump after replacing belt.
Two things spring to mind,
1 You have dislodged the pump on its bearing, which should be an interference fit, but frequently is quite slack.
2 You have whilst removing the hoses to fit the belt caused one or both of the plastic tubes that are fitted to the brass part of the pump to become slack and leak.
No.1 Can be solved by tapping the pump back onto its bearing in situ. But the seal might have been damaged and might still leak. If so then solution is an expensive new pump or rebuilding with a new bearing and seal (available from most auto shops) search the forum for sizes.
No.2 Can temporally be fixed by wrapping self vulcanising tape around the plastic to brass joint that is leaking.
Any serious work on the pump is best done on the bench, it is only held on with 3 x Allen headed bolts 5/16" or 8mm key.
