I am trying to take the rub rail off my 84 glastron ssv. Does the rubber section slide out from the front or pop out or what? I realize that the metal portion is either screwed or riveted to the boat. I just need help with the rubber.
Thanks guys
Matt

just grab an end and yank it out, getting it back in is the trick, some slide in, some shove in, but you can just peel out either kind  . then there should be a gazillion pop rivets to drill out

its a pinched in fit.... once you have it loose ,, you can pull it out, but when reinstalling it, you will have to fit the bottom in , pinch, while pulling it to strech it, and pry the top in with a pry device, a bondo applicator type squeggee works well.... also , it goes in a lot easier if hot... try putting it in very hot water befroe installing. the alum rail itself is either screwed or pop riveted..

I just removed mine yesterday. Once you get it popped out initially, its a breeze, just pulls right out. I'm not looking forward to reinstalling, however....
