Here is the picture.

Running on the lake at WOT, the engine slow down to approx 2/3 of WOT. When I put it to idle it died. I tried to start it but it was impossible to crank.

I lift the motor to I take out plugs and #2 was wet. Few minutes later, when I tried to start it water came out from the side between crankcase and cylinder case.

I am planning to change head and exhaust gaskets plus the one between cylinder case and crankcase but a fried told me to look at the leaf plate. Does it make any sens?

Which of these 3 places should I look first?

Thanks for your help. Mart

look closely for cracks, you may have cracked the case. not unusual for that motor, i have seen 2 this year.

Well, actually I can see 1 crack near the jonction between cylinder and crankcase. It's the place where the water came out.

I plan to fix it with Devcon (Aluminum Epoxy) is that correct?

This weekend, I changed Gaskets.

First did the easy on, head's gasket. It was in good condition.

Then I went to exhaust gasket and Bingo  there is the problem... gaskets for sure but look these pictures.

What do you think can cause this?

Thanks, Mart

Almost looks like the connecting rod broke out part of the block. Did you find any pieces inside of the exhaust cover? Will the engine turn over BY HAND? If so and it is a rod, you should be able to watch it move away from the hole. If it is a rod, you have a serious problem.

I only found pieces of the block in the exhaust.

No I can't turn it by hand.

I am closs to say it passed away, but is it possible to weld a patch over this hole?

What about your call?

Thanks, Mart

Looks like you threw a connecting rod, particularly since it won't turn over by hand and there is a hole in the block. Time for the power head to come off to see what's up.
