rude 2 stroke or merc 4 stroke

My problem is this, I have a 1987 17' Bayliner bowrider that I need to repower. The 1987 Force 85hp is the new anchor, I am not sure what outboard to repower with. I am stuck between a 2002 Merc 90hp 4 stroke and a 2002 Rude 90hp 2 stroke I do alot of pleasure boating but also some tubing and watersking and I am not sure that the Merc would have a good hole shot to pull a skier out of the water, or if the watersports would be to hard on a 4 stroke.

I'd really check out your 15yr old bayliner before I put a new engine on the boat. <br />I'd go with the rude if I thought it was worth repowering.
