To all the forthcoming southern boater posts describing balmy temps, bikinis, snd fishing, those "Neener, Neener, Neener" attemps are meaningless without pics.

Re: Rude Awakening

That is so nice out there. I love going out west. I would like to think I can live out there some day.

Re: Rude Awakening

Utah is close to the same. My BIL works for me, he lives near the great salt lake where lake effect snow happens a lot, he came to work today with 4" of snow on his truck...

We need the snow, our lakes are dry so no complaints from me. I'm even planning on a hard winter, got a new snowblower coming. And no, I didn't jinx it... if anything, ma nature will prove to me I should've gotten a BIGGER one... ;)

Re: Rude Awakening

No bikini pics. only 81 today but will be dropping to highs in the 70s and lows in the 60s soon. What is unusual is 4 days of 1' - 2' on the ocean ~~~ water temp 76. Have just been going out to troll Spanish mackerel a few hours each day. After tomorrow a cold front will drop those temps and bring rain. I prefer the snow I see to be online or the weather channel. Even thought of naming my boat 'no mo sno' when I moved south....

Well, to be honest I would, except......

I only got to go about 5 or 6 times all summer because of a) a major project my wife volunteered me for b) an extremely wet summer which forced me to cancel trips many times. And c) All the Corp boat ramps are closed because of the govt. shutdown and I'd have to drive an excessive distance to get to a marina with a ramp. So I'm keeping my mouth shut for a change :grumpy:

I'm pretty sure this stuff is because of where you live!

Looks like it's time to sharpen the ice auger blades and make sure the little 2' long fishin' poles are in good working order.

The surface temps on the lakes around here are still in the mid 80s, but I'm looking forwad to the end of the month when they drop down into the 70s and next month when they hit the 60s.
