Ya gotta admit....a reporter calling anyone a liar has all the ingredients of a classic oxymoron!

Re: Rumsfeld

hahahahah
kinda what I think, however the reporter in question is former CIA and apperently had done quite a bit of research before asking.
poor Rumsfeld is not a good kabookie dancer.
its funny to watch him dance when asked direct and pointed question that the answer is already a matter of public record.

IF all reporters are LIARS, it stands to REASON that EVERYTHING ever written and EVERYTHING ever read, whether good or bad, were all a pack of lies.
How much more cynicism can we absorb and still classify ourselves as being a civilized people?

I dont think anyone lied to get into the war. You could maybe claim incompetence, but not lying.

Ken

I agree with you Ken. Except, I would change the "maybe" to "definately."

The enemy of my enemy is not always my friend.
A case in point is Iran, though an ememy to Al Queda, the Taliban and Saddam, Iran is not our friend.

If you pick parts of statements made over a long peroid of time and believed to be true when they were made.

You can make anybody a liar

tommays

Agreed, Just as using hindsight and playing Monday morning quarter backing doesn’t qualify anyone as an expert on anything. First hand knowledge, situational experience and real time dealing are always open to second rate second guessing.

Re: Rumsfeld

Elmer, Look at your remark, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Now think of it from the side of Iran, Saudi, Morocco, Jordan get it. They are bound by the hatred of Israel and the Jews and therefore hate the US.

The statement does bear weight.

As for Rumsfeld, he is not stupid or incompetent, just an evil bad man, playing war because he was a coward before and this is his war.

Wouldn't it be nice if we had somebody who was actually in the military and actually in a war and actually in charge of the whole thing?

Re: Rumsfeld

Colin Powell was right there but he did not understand power over honesty of the likes of Rummy and Cheney. Colin has spoken only a bit but it is obvious he remains loyal to the country and his military oath but was lied to all the way on this one.

I am coming to believe that W is just a pawn in this whole administration. Cheney and Runsfeld are the power brokers and the victors in this whole oil and war ordeal and they have orchestraed it for their own benefits. Someday historians will tell this whole story. Sad Americans must die and live it for them.

Re: Rumsfeld

I've decided these threads are simply comedy now . . . The Frogger has won me over.

It is not funny to me though that when I use the word evil to describe someone like Saddam, or Iran or North Korea, I am considered a simpleton, but when txs refers to American leaders as evil we just walk on by . . . Hmmmmmm, yep, not funny, twisted and sad . . .

Re: Rumsfeld

Did I use a no no word. Sorry but QC, I agree that Saddam, Iran and North Korea all fit the definition of "Evil." Why have they taken that away, should I have used self serving sumbeach instead.

Re: Rumsfeld

Txs, you called Rumsfeld evil, and then you kinda threw Cheney in for good measure. I was using "really bad people and really bad stuff" cause evil was getting jimonica's and CJY'S panties in a bunch. They get hung up on "who gets to decide what's evil?". Pretty juvenile, but OK.

Sorry Dave Abrahamson. Lost my head for a moment. Back to the comedy . . .
