I have a 2003 Volvo Penta 5.7 Gi-C I would like to run without the 10 pin connector connected.
I did this in the past when I was rebuilding the engine several years ago but have forgotten which pins to connect on the engine 10 Pin connector to do this.

If I remember correctly with I connect Pin 5 (purple) and Pin 6 (Red/Purple) I get a run circuit.
If I then connect power Pin 5 to Pin 7 momentarily I should get a start circuit to the starter.

Can anyone verify/correct this????

My Engine is the 5.7 Gi-C with individual fuel injectors and electronic ignition circuits.

thx Dale

Correct, same as Merc, except best to jump from 6 to 7 (6 is main power)

I have that connector drawing, and more -- I am looking for confirmation of which pins to connect for the run circuit and which for the start circuit

thx Dale

Like AD said 6 is the 12 v + supply put a maintained jumper 6 to 5 to power the ignition circuit , put a momentary jumper 6 to 7 to bump the starter.

I took two 5-6” pieces of stranded 14 gauge wire, twisted two ends together stuffed those into 6 , stuffed one loose end in 5, just touch the other loose end to 7 for the starter. When you want to shut it off pull it out of 5 to kill ignition. You’ll need a spare big battery cable to the starter Positive lug. I used jumper cables for the ground.
