If the government kept our borders closed, employers would not have to fear hiring illegals. It appears our governmet has placed the burden on, for the most part, honest business men and women to stem the flow by not providing employment for them. When they do hire an illegal by accident or otherwise, they are fined. A nice little racket the gov has set up for themselves.

I think for every illegal that is hired, the goverment should be fined and have to pay the employer. Afterall, it is the governments fault for allowing them through in the first place.

The gov does a poor job so they find a way to make money from it.

This is precisely the kind of stuff that bothers the he77 out of me.

Not meant to be a a knock on W necessarily. It has been happening longer than he has been Prez.

It seems to me that the business folks blame the govt. and the Feds blame business.

This is just to keep the rest of us guessing.

They're all crooks.

A veritable genius you are CJY, you undoubtedly stumbled on the root of the issue. For too long we have neglected to understand that the politicians were, in effect, creating the problem that they gave/give lip service to making us responsible for solving.

What we know now is that they really never wanted the 'problem' to be solved. And as high a profile as this has become, they are still prevaricating and playing rope-a-dope on the issue.

The "problem" is there are few, if any Americans that haven't benefited from the labor of illegals in one way or another, knowingly or not. Right, wrong, or indifferent, that's the way it is.

Right! And none of us can remember Shrub’s first stab at the presidency when he campaigned as a “governor from a border state that understands the issues of illegal immigration”. That was over SIX YEARS AGO!!! I think the only reason he is even addressing the issue now is because he is being made to, not because he wants to.

Fwiw, an estimated 10% of Mexico’s population is now illegally inside of the borders of the United States of America. They send home an estimated $20-billion to Mexico monthly.

On the issue of illegal aliens, Shrub’s score is a big zero, and dropping fast.
