Run Stabil or Seafoam all year?

I have a '95 115 V4 Johnson and it sounds like big trouble if a carb gums up. So I'm thinking of running Stabil all year. The problem is that I have a 32 gal inboard tank and it will sometimes sit for 3-4 weeks without being run.

I can't see how running Stabil or Seafoam year round would hurt, but just though I'd get your opinions. :)

And one less thing to do to winterize :D

Hello.
It won't hurt anything but your wallet if you do.
Just remember to add the volume of the stabil or seafoam to your pure gasoline volume and calculate your fuel/oil mix accordingly.
Seafoam claims to clean your injectors/carburators,it claims to stabilize your fuel and it is supposed to decarb your engine.I dont think stabil makes that many claims. It would seem then that seafoam would be your additive of choice...
However keeping my lack of chemistry knowledge in mind, both could be exactly the same.

Stabil is quite a bit cheaper than seafoam, a quart of stabil $9-10 treats up to 80 gallons of fuel. I don't remember the rate for Seafoam, but it treats far less fuel and a pint costs $9-10. Stabil is a stabilizer, no claims for carb cleaning, decarbing etc. Apples and Oranges I think. By the way, I treat every tank (150 gallons) with Stabil year round, and I decarb with Sea Foam once per year. Not sure if either do what they claim..... but I still use em. Planning to pull a carb soon and take a look at any varnish build up.

I have a '91 90hp Johnson. Have used Seafoam in every tank for the last seven years during boating season. Also use Stabil over the winter. Don't know if the Seafoam helps, but it hasn't seemed to hurt any. The motor actually runs better now than when I bought it seven years ago.
