Hi All, I was running the boat on the hose today and had a odd problem. It quit cold on me and when I tried to restart it fired for a few seconds and then all the gages went crazy and it died again. I tried to restart but everything was dead except the trim gage. I flipped the run stop switch to STOP and everything came alive again. the engine would turn over but of course would not run, which it should not. I flipped it back to RUN and everything was dead again. I then tried to reset the red button on the engine but still no go. The boat is a 2005 Maxum 1800MX with mercruiser 3.0 . Any one have any thoughts?

Hi All Again. I may have found my problem accidently. After reading a few more post's on the subject I inspected the shift interrupter switch. After moving the block up and down to activate and de activate the switch the engine fired in the RUN position. The switch may just need to be adjusted. I'll check it further and report back.
I found the switch does not have any play with in the block valley. Is it suppose to have a gap????
