My Mercruiser throttle and gear controls have a run/stop toggle switch on the side? What is the switch supposed to do. It doesn't appear to be doing anything now.
It's set up to take a safety lanyard you attach to you. Then attach it to the switch. (several styles out there) then if you fall out of the boat it automatically kills the engine.<br />Got a picture of it????
