You have three options. 1) Install a rebuilt power head, 2) find a used power head or used engine with a bad lower unit, or 3) IF your power head is salvageable, have it rebuilt. #2 is least expensive. #1 and #3 are next but #3 depends on how much damage was done. For certain, boring the engine, all new bearings, probably a new crank, for sure new pistons, rods, rings, and a carb rebuild and required. My vote therefore is that you simply go for the rebuilt power head. That gets you a new engine minus the accessory items like carbs and electrics. So by all means, rebuild the carbs or you risk trashing a brand new power head.
