I want to run my new 6.2's on the engine stand before installing in my boat. How do I wire up battery. I have a 6.2 (was 5.7) GSIPEFS motor which is a TBI one. The factory engine harness is on, running water intake line to a full jug with a garden hose filling it. Fuel is from a line stuck in a 5 gal can. Battery + to starter, - to engine ground. I think pin 7 and 6 will go to remote starter button. How do I shut it off? How about fuel pumps to prime it?

How long does it take to prime the fuel system? I have about a 5 foot hose down in a gas can. I did fill the filter too. Seems to be taking awhile.

Need to purge the air out. Being a TBI take a rag and place close to the fuel line, loosen a bit, then turn ignition on. Pump runs a couple seconds, then turn off and repeat until some fuel show up

Ok getting fuel now, how long after priming oil (60 psi on my mechanical gauge,) can I fire motor? 10 minutes or so? New gm 6.2 long block running comp cams 10w-30 break in oil. Takes a while to put distributor back in aiming at #1 tdc.

I just give it a couple minutes, it shouldn't take long, but just my opinion
