running on muffs

Had this yamaha going on three years now never seen water coming out of a hole in front of the lower unit check out hole looks like it came from factory that way. just this year had the lower unit rebuilt .had on muffs for the first time since the rebuilt that when I notice it. is this normal ? 91/90hp yamaha tlrp. thanks everyone.tino

call yamaha corp.outboard dept.said it is normal.has something to do with speedometer

They told you correctly. That is the speedometer pickup. Usually gets clogged and is blown/cleaned out to get speedo working again. If there is no speedo, it goes to a tube up towards the powerhead.

Yea, I had mine come loose on my Yamaha,I fixed it when the weather got cold last year I was fed up being wet from that spray.
