Was out on the water today fishing and all was well, cruised around the lake a few times and she ran great. I then stop at another fishing spot and fished alittle, then started her back up she seemed to idle rough. I gave her some more gas and she kinda felt like she was missing alittle, I then put her to full throttle and she was only running at half throttle all the way back to the dock. Once I was close to the dock I put it in reverse and she ran great, she had full throttle in reverse .... just not in forward. Im going out to the garage tomm to poke around but does anyone have any ideas of what it could be or where I should start? I'm not very engine savy lol.

Thanks for any help that anyone can provide.

Hi ragu and welcome to the forum!
We might be able to help you better if you are able to provide us with some information regarding the year, hp and if possible...any serial no. or model numbers concerning your engine.
Going just on what you have described however, I would guess that your motor may have an ignition or fuel problem that is interfering with on one or more cylinders from firing correctly.

Ya dummy me, its a 1985 50hp Force. I was thinking maybe it was something to do with the shifting cables or something seeing as how it runs full throttle in reverse just not in forward. But I went out this morning and did a quick look over of the shifting of the cables at the engine and they seem to be moving properly. So I really am stumped .....

I really appreciate the reply Matthew and look forward on any info or opinions on where I should start.

Thank You

Well I went out and popped out the spark plugs and one is still wet with gas, and the other is dry. So I guess one is not firing, I am going to replce the plugs and see what results I receive from that. Any ideas or help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You
