Stock, they cool good. If you wreck a water pump impellor or housing, or put in a water pump wrong, (gaskets, torque, and the little bit of gasket goo are all critical) or you get some chit stuck in the t-stats or poppit, they don't cool good. If you change the design, they may seem to cool good, but someting's hot somewhere. If you continue to run it that way, you eventually do major mechanical damage to the motor.
Get it to stock, then troubleshoot the cooling issue till you fix it.
