Did you change the complete water pump kit? How about thermoststs? Head gaskets and deflectors? Were there pieces of the old impeller missing?

Good luck!

thanks for tring to help... i pulled the t-stats and one was stuck but what are the springs under them for? they were all melted. What is the best way to flush the motor to make sure parts of the impeller are not in there. I also pulled the center plate for it was leaking water i am going to replace all gaskets.Am i heading in the right direction? thanks again

You are absolutely going in the right direction.
Since the motor got hot enough to melt the pressure relief valves you definately will need head gaskets and deflectors. You may want to consider taking compression before going any further since it got that hot.

Good luck!
