Ive read in other forums guys are are using a rust inhibitor spray when doing dry block storage, in manifolds and block. Is this a good idea?

That would be almost impossible to do. What do they say they are using?

Based on where you live, I am guessing you never boat in salt water. You will rust out before your block does.

Haha! This is why i boats is the got to place for questions and education. Fella said he sprays corrosion block in his water drains and manifold drains. Apparently it can be purchased online and is designed for marine applications so it "environmentally" friendly.

It comes in an aerosol can, but id say its primarily used on external parts. Not sure, but i trust the info i get on here, from dry block winter storage, i follow don's winterization process to a tee.
So intried to pass info along and this fella chimed in and told me to spray inhibitor in the drain holes. Never heard it before so i ask on here! Lol

Like Bruce said that will never work. If you are worried about internal corrosion of the block/heads and manifolds, then after manually draining you can fill the engine with -100 Marine antifreeze with corrosion inhibitors. I've done it for 15 years in salt water and the block is still not rusted out. It might not be necessary if in fresh water though.

Not to worried about it, theres hardly anything that comes out of the drain holes after poking the hole in the block and manifold drains other than a bit of algea. But if seasoned boaters on here havent heard of it then im guessing its not a good idea. Lol!
