Thinking about using this on the structure that holds my bench seating which can be seen when you lift the sunpad and see the engine compartment(Basically the backing of the bench seat itself)... this a durable product?

The circles kinda show what will be painted glossy white....

I never used this paint myself, but awhile back I read some pretty good reviews using this paint. They said best results were with a soft brush or soft roller. For what you wannt to paint I think it would be worth a try. Sorry, I can't remember what forum I was reading this in.

Im thinking it will do the trick, but still curious if theres something better then this... or cheaper that does the same thing... I would use probably a soft roller on this.

No go ahead and use it. Kind of impossible to beat for the bang for buck.

I used it on the interior of my aluminum runabout restoration. It's very tough, although I found it took a lot longer to "cure" than Rustoleum said. It could have been the weather condtions at the time, but it was a good 30 days before it was really hard and durable. I applied it with a roller in some areas and a brush in others. You can add Majic? Catalyst Hardener, 1/2 pint - 1177127 | Tractor Supply Company or a similar hardener and it will harden faster.

Make sure you prep well and follow Rusto's instructions.

There's really no reason to pay the extra price for the top side paint. Their "Professional" oil based paint works just as well. Or you could use the entire Majic Paint line from Tractor supply. Check the last link in my signature below for details.

I'm in process of restoring my 14 foot Sea Nymph and on the inside I used rustoleum but I added a hardener from Tractor Supply. It was as good as or even better than the high cost marine deck paint. The hardener can only be used with oil based paint(any). After removing the decals from the hull I replaced them with the paint w/the hardener(original design).Pictures to follow in the next few weeks when it is completed. I set a budget for this project and will be under it only because I stayed away from my local marine rip-off store.

Re: Rust-Oleum Marine topside paint???

my former mentor in the coatings industry once ran an International Paint factory. They would make paint in 10,000 gallon batches. The first lot from that batch would go into 5 gal pails for bulk sale to painters. The last lot would go into quart cans for high profit sales in the marine paint market.
