1990 omc 460 inboard. had the heads redone due to rusted valves on cyl 6 and 7 last year. put boat in water but had to take out due to shaft logs leaking too much, plus valves needed adjustment (discovered mechanic did a poor job). . only put 45 mins on engines before taking out. updated to dripless over the winter and when I took off valve covers to adjust valves discovered rust on the push rods and on the housing of the head. no water in the oil so any ideas how this could occur? unless mechanic didnt clean heads completely and may e used the original pushrod. I did purchase a set of new ones for him to install having trouble getting a pic from my phone. will upload shortly

many ways. if you had rusted valves on cylinders 6 and 7, your exhaust riser to manifold joint is leaking

if you only put 45 minutes of run on a motor prior to storing for a while, any moisture in the oil did not get a chance to burn off

read the tutorials on uploading pics (rules and guidelines forums). you have to reduce the pic size from the super large on your phone to about 400kb
