I have a decent amount of rust stains from a disintegrating trim pump bracket on my 2000 Sea Ray that I bought a few months ago.
On a side note, I will add this to my question as to manufacturing pet peeve issues along with the difficulty in draining the oil and a rusty trim bracket. From all the sales options this most be a common issue. Why not make it from a rust resistant material?
Anyway how do I remove the heavy rust stain from the fiberglass, before I replace the bracket? I thought I remembered reading muriatic acid but am I crazy? Any advise? Thanks Ike
