Rusted and rounded aft engine nuts on a johnson V4

Trying to remove the 2 aft nuts on a V4 Johnsoon
Its the 2 that are under the exhaust plate you have to access them under the cowling.
On my motor the are rusted and rounded
How can i get them off
Any ideas ???
Plus i have 2 snapped head bolts The heads twisted right off having to drill these out
Tried hitting the head in all directions but it will not move.

For the ones under the exhaust plate try a small vice grip pliers and some heat. For the head, try a bigger hammer.

Are those nuts 1/2" wrench size? Oft times, a 12mm Metric wrench is just enough smaller to fit the rusted inch-size ones.

??----Drill them from the side and split them.----They will fall on the floor.----Hopefully the powerhead will then lift off.

Is there enough clearance to get one of these in there? I've used this type for years with good success:

Are you wrestling with the two nuts at the rear that thread onto the studs holding the powerhead on? If you are, the 12mm 6-point wrench has saved my hide many times. If that fails, get out the drill as racerone suggested.

Post # 1 says what the struggle is.---Clearly those 2 nuts at the back.---Easy to resolve in my opinion.

I managed to get the dremmel flex shaft in with single cut burr.
Put a side on it then spanner and chisel to get them out.

Nope head still stuck 2 snapped easy outs where the bolt heads used to be
One of the power head long bolts has snapped the head off port side nearest the front.
I can get it out by drilling just under the cowling pulling the power head off. I have reached the stage where i regret starting to strip this motor.
If i could get away with leaving the snapped bolts as is and just reassemble it and use it for this summer i would do it.
But having two head bolts snapped off is a bit dodgy (Even though i cant budge the head with a 5lb mallet)

Easy Outs. There ain't no such thing. It ain't easy, and they won't get it out. Try and you bust them off and then you have a REAL problem. They should be outlawed.

Yeah im with you on that F_R
Now i have hardened steel to try and get out.
I know that alum disintegrates steel and leaves the alloy alone.
But that will take a few weeks to work. I need the heads off today.
I will get the power head bolt out first then tackle the heads once she is on the bench. Do you know if the bottom cowl will drop over the midsection a couple of inches ?

Those two nuts.... If heat and a metric wrench won't remove them, use a thin long chisel taping them in a off counter clockwise direction.

I got the nuts off with a dremmel and chisel and spanners Joe
What im with is the head has 2 broken of bolt heads which now have 2 snapped easy outs in them
Plus the long power head bolt with its head snapped off. I want to lower the bottom cowling so i can drill horizontally in just below where the threads enter the power head. Then hopefully lift the head off.

Need to know is there away to drop the lower cowling ?

You can lower it a bit by taking bolts out for the 4 mounts.-----Or cut it at the front and back so it will fall on the floor in 2 pieces.
