Ive used that to remove O2 sensors in exoust pipes before, and it works well. Never tryed it on something real rusty though. If you try it, make sure you report back how it worked.

Okay guys, heres the skinny: risers off mani's, may need manis off block. bolts are ALL in recesed or tight holes, cant get chisel, grinder, or socket in there. only thing that fits is box end wrench, (on risers), on manis bolt heads are rusty enough to partialy crumble when wrenched, leaving me with nothing resembling a bolt head, but enough to hold heads on. Alen: engine in boat, not rebuild. tried mapp heat and pb combo, NO DICE. hav'nt tried beating them to chunks yet.

You may have to pull the engine.....

how long have you been working on this? if you dont wanna pull the motor pull the heads. post a photo I would like to see.

Woody take a step back and a deep breath.

Told ya on the phone it ain't gonna be easy with this one. Sat and sat so long near the ocean. Saltwater will destroy anything resembling metal.

Knew it was no walk in the park.

Risers off and one big ball of rust i bet and useless.

Same problem with the manifolds, they won't want to come off ether.

Everyone wants to help.

I'll bet the manifold are gonna be bad also, but you and i both know they got to come off.

Take your time,i know your getting anxious. Step 2 get em off.

Unless you are pretty sure the manifolds can be reused - I really think that Bondo has the best plan - take a big hammer and start breaking them up.

A dremel tool works great on hard to reach manifold bolts.

Here is what I had to deal with:

I was able to get in there with the dremel tool and cut the heads of the bolts off on the manifolds.

You can do it!
