S# 8065144 Can't seem to find any info.

I have a 115 hp Mercury with the S# 8065144 I can't find any info on this motor. I've put the serial number in some part lookup web sights but keep getting no match.

Trying to get one good motor out of 2 complete motors. 1 is a 89 100 and the other is a 115 hp but can't find any info on it.

Can someone help with any info.

1978 Australia built, but that serial number falls short of 1979 starting numbers and is over 78 ending numbers so take another look at it, you could double check the number on the pad cast into the starboard side of the block.

The block looks exactly like the 89 100 hp engine I have. Most of the parts from the 100 fit right on the 115. The carbs are different though. There is a date stamped on the motor on the opposite side of the badge inserted in the motor. The date is 11-23-88 don't know if that means anything.

Yes, when I see the photo thats a 4 cyl and I looked it up as a 6cyl, It looks like the number is B065144 a 1988 4 cyl 100HP not 8065144
