I'm from Nevada and finally got my boat sea worthy. I am planning a week long trip to the Sac delta and the Frisco Bay, with camping at Angel Island, and any other place that looks fun.

Any pointers on fishing the delta, bay or open water? Also, any cool sights anyone thinks is a don't miss?

Thanks,
Shaun

It all depends what time of year your going. There is different species in those waters at certain times of the year.
Your best bet is to checkout fishsniffer.com for info.

I don't know where Frisco Bay is, but if you happen to go to the San Francisco Bay......;)....... Sausalito is a nice place to dock for lunch and Tiburon (near Angel Island) has nice quaint restaurants. If you are planning to boat from the Delta to SF Bay, Benicia is a nice place to stop.

If you have time, climb to the top of Angel Island at night. It has a 360 degree view of the entire SF Bay, including Sausalito, Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, Bay Bridge, Oakland, Berkeley, Richmond Bridge and Marin County. Worth the hike.

My wife and I went out on San Francisco Bay for the first time in our boat just last Sunday (I know, it was Super Bowl but I'm not a huge sports fan. I did catch the entire 2nd half though.). If you take a look at a previous thread I started you can see photos of our trip. You won't get weather and water condition like this very often though so be prepared for much more as far as wind and surf.

Days like that show you why we put up with so much to live in California.
