Hi Gents,

Merc 3ltr yr 2000 Alpha drive........

I have ordered a complete set of anodes for my outdrive as I noticed the trim cylinder anodes looked a little worse for wear!

PROBLEM!.my boat is kept on its wet berth (SEA) at the moment and will not be out of the water until November

Therefore could anybody please advise which anodes it is possible to change with the boat in in its current position?

I realise I can do the cylinders and the trim anode from the rear swim platform with little problem, are there others I will be able to do prior to Nov?

Many thanks
Rob (Wales UK)

If that is the worsed one, and there are others fitted - don't worry. You can wait until November.

Then again, you could go for a swim with some tools................... ;)

Aldo

Re: Sacrificial anodes?

I don't know how many anodes there are for your model but I can tell you that they all work in unison - that is to say - if all the connections are good/clean, one bad anode is not critical.

Half worn is about the time to replace. Assuming there are others fitted, waiting 12 weeks isn't a problem.

If you are still worried, you can buy 'clip on' anodes that dangle in the water. The 'clip' goes onto whatever you are trying to protect from corrosion.

Aldo
