Re: Sad, but funny!

This seems like a classic case of Role Reversal. Which means the kid runs the house rather than the parents for a variety of different reasons. (I was like that when I was younger, until my parents started becoming parents and I become more matured). Truth be known, Parents, if your going to have children, step up to the plate and prioritize your responsibilities. Police don't scare kids anymore, you can't whip your kids like the old days, take care of the current situations growing up to avoid problems later on.

Sir you have more restraint than I do cause that kid needs an arse whoopin. Just think some officers may have tazered him or given him a wood shampoo and then got a front page dedicated to him as a kid beater

Re: Sad, but funny!

It is not always going to be the parents fault. I have seen them rotten no matter what the parents do.
The kids knows the leo is not going to do much to him so he took the chance. Im sure he would not do that at school with a larger kid. Also, although I agree that leo's have better things to do than attending a call like this... In the other hand if you smack a kid like this he will be calling the cops on you. I saw that happened in person with my gf. Sending kids to juvi sometimes dont do much. If the kid is really bad he will just be building connections with other bad kids.
Still, great job.

Re: Sad, but funny!

Just got off work. Ended up at the apartment right behind this kid's tonight. He was in the backyard watching. I saw him, but as soon as he saw me he RAN in the house! After the call I thought about going over to talk to him and see how he was doing. Probably should have, but I just wasn't in the mood in case things didn't go well. It was too long of a night. Maybe I'll do it later. There's a part of me that feels bad for him. I see how I was brought up and how my kids were (are being) brought up, and (not making excuses for his behavior) it's like the kid doesn't have a chance. Maybe I'm a little soft .

I couldn't agree more!! To have a role model rather than the kids off the street. Someone to guide them towards more responsible actions and show them another way. For me, it was Martial Arts. That was my way to get away from everything and a little discipline also came into part. My instructor was VERY strict. I practiced 6 days a week, became pretty decent. If I got into trouble, I had to answer to my Head Instructor, which he decided the consequences. The worst which I feared was being kicked out of class permanently. Which would have devastated me.

Someone previously said that it's not always the parents fault. I do agree, it's Not Always the parents fault. But they do play the most important role.
