This time of year the water is still warm. So, when the air is cold, hold onto your catch to warm your hands and immediatley dry your hands off with a towel.
For a warm towel, put it in a black plastic bag in direct sunlight and out of the wind.

Well, there might be 4-5 weeks of ice on the Potomac all winter. Can go below the fall line then, but it's cold and windy. But, I'd rather run around in the floods above the fall line.:facepalm: The islands are great to land and get a fire going, cook up some brats and have a beer. Outboard 18foot closed bow tin v-hull. Agreed! I ride an 07 MXZ Blizzard 600SDI and my daughters 04 polaris supersport 550... Gotta sell that one though and pick up another REV. Seems I never get to ride my own sled when the girls are with me. They have too much fun on Dads!

I did mine this past weekend. Because of rainy, cool weather and other scheduling conflicts( work) haven`t been able to get out since Labor Day. I will miss it, but it`s deer hunting season and that will occupy me for several months.

Yea the 550 is a great beginner sled, but once your past the beginner stage, time to step up. I had a 2000 550 supersport back in the day for my wife to learn on. It was a good sled for her to learn on.

Here outside of Palm Springs CA it's boating all year, only 45 min. away I'm at Diamond Valley Lake or Lake Perris. 102 out today if you can believe it I'm waiting for winter to start. LDJ

In Michigan we pull flat bottoms out on the ice with fishing gear in it.
